Silver Creek held its Senior Prom, “The Journey Begins,” on April 28 at Gilroy Gardens featuring rides, carnival games, a large dance floor, dining tables, and many photo booths.
When the seniors arrived at Gilroy Gardens, the night was split up into three sections. The first part of the night was all about finding tables for the night, and eating dinner as soon as the buffet opened.
The carnival games and rides opened up, and everyone left the auditorium to explore Gilroy Gardens. Both rides and games were free, making the lines to board the Banana Split ride and the carousel crowd long

The opening of the attractions provided a great contrast from other proms, since attendees were not restricted to just dancing all night. However it wasn’t long before the great DJ Christeeezy got everyone hyped and back onto the dance floor. DJ Christeeezy played great music, ranging from throwbacks, Bay Area favorites, to just straight bangers.
Towards the end of the night, the DJ turned on the slow songs, and Kevin Vuong (18’), class spirit leader, announced the prom king and queen. Seniors voted between Aleena Francisco and Chanakya Gulati, or Haley Miranda and Quentin Thomas. The winner, Aleena Francisco, described the experience as, “an extra nice gesture to an already great night.”
The 2018 officers did a great job putting together a memorable Senior Prom experience with the help from Nina Tran, who is responsible of creating the boarding pass and the passport. Senior Prom was another great experience and send off to the graduating class of 2018.
