I usually end up watching product reviews on Youtube and now, although this isn’t Youtube, it’s my turn to give an honest review of some products. I love skincare and cleansers and scrubs, since my face is riddled with impurities. It feels like I’m being pampered. But it seems like many people don’t share the same desire to use these skincare products. I think the main reason why some people don’t invest in regimens or products is because of the price. My cleansers and moisturizers altogether cost around $80, and that’s because I have more than one cleanser and lotion. I’m currently out of the loop compared to most people since my regimen doesn’t consist of a mask, and I wasn’t committed on spending $28-80 on a small 10-ounce pot that would last me midway through the month. So, I was on a mission to find the best and budget-friendly mask on the market which brought me to Drug Stores like Walgreens, and dollar shops, mainly Daiso. All masks have a 0-10 rating.
Garnier SkinActive Moisture Bomb Super Hydrating Mask, CVS, ~ $3 (SHEET MASK, SINGLE USE) Okay, here’s my gripe with sheet masks and how they dare be sold individually. Why have a product this good, designed for dry skin, and only give me one? Out of the various CVS masks that I tried, I found this one to be my favorite. This mask has Hyaluronic Acid (helps skin retain its natural moisture) and Pomegranate Extract (overall great for dry skin) which makes the mask smell like pomegranate, not my favorite. Garnier says that this mask helps the face retain moisture throughout the day and they’re not wrong. 8/10 Natural Charcoal Peel Off Mask, Daiso, ~ $6 (2.7 OZ BOTTLE) At the highest price on this review, the Daiso Charcoal Peel Off Mask isn’t worth the money. Yes, the mask peels off, and, yes, the mask has charcoal to unclog pores and polish skin, but it can’t be justified. The bottle is the size of Hotel Complimentary Shampoo and is basically a single use product, whereas the Freeman Polishing Charcoal Mask can be used more than once, AND is half the price of this mask. With my use of the product it didn’t really do much to “clean deep down.” The mask does smell pleasant, and does do something. Little impurities came off with the mask and mostly small hairs. Actually, the mask is more of a facial waxing mask than a cosmetic mask. Of course, this is my review of the product and every face is different, but if you have the same complexion as me you’re not missing out. If you have oily skin there may be a slight chance that this mask works better, but I doubt it. 4/10 Daylogic Rejuvenate Facial Creme Mask, Rite Aid, ~ $3 (0.5 OZ, SINGLE USE PACKET) The main component in this mask is coconut oil. If you didn’t know, coconut oil is a comedogenic, and comedogenicos are substances that block pores. Most oils on the market are comedogenic because they sit on the face and go nowhere. Because of this trait of comedogenicos they are more likely to cause blackheads and acne. That being said, this mask isn’t that great. The smell is more like a processed coconut smell and it feels pretty runny. It’s supposed to “revitalize dehydrated skin.” Once I had washed off this mask my face felt even more dry than before, completely missing the mark on what it’s supposed to do. 3/10 |
