The Fall Play Festival is when the drama team brings to life a bunch of original plays written by the students of Silver Creek. This year we have many interesting productions being brought to our school and I’m excited to inform you more about these enactments to get you riled up about our upcoming performance. Each play has a specific theme; I asked Ms. Koizumi about her ideal theme and this is what she responded with: “self-discovery, loneliness, loss, friendship, and love are all key components of each play.”
The plays that we are going to be showcasing in our festival are: Rising Senior directed by Hazelle Malonzo (‘20). Cast: Kat Wagenaar (‘21) playing Jeannette, Isabella Pappas (‘22) playing Sarah.
- Length: 10 to 15 mins - A short summary about the play: Rising Seniors is a play about that Sarah got into her dream school and her best friend Jeanette didn’t, which leads to a dramatic argument and a sense of a broken friendship.
Redo Thing directed by Vinh Ton (‘20). Cast: Adriana Panuco (‘19) playing The Women, Britney Dang (‘22) playing The Reporter.
- Length: 3 to 5 mins - A short summary of the play: The play is driven by raw emotion and the relationships that define you.
My Name directed by Annika Othon (‘22). Cast: Adelita Ozuna (‘22) playing Sarah, Duc Tran (‘22) playing Dan, Cristina Perez (‘19) playing The Host, Julia Baraona (‘21) playing Fiona, Vinh Ton (‘20) playing Anthoney, Isela Vega (‘21) playing Martha, Ensemble is the High School students.
- Length: 10 minutes - A short summary about the play: My Name is a story about a Muslim girl named Sarah that is being bullied by Fiona. She wears her hijab and it causes people to label her as a terrorist and goes through many struggles before her prom. She then tells her story and shows people how they shouldn’t label someone before they even ask for their name because your race does not define you.
10 vs. 200 directed by Ms. Koizumi (Drama Teacher). Cast: Liliana Marcoida (‘21) playing The Girl, Nicole Wisniewski (‘22) playing Person 1, Leticia Ramirez (‘21) playing as Person 2.
- Length: 5-7 minutes - A short summary about the play: The play 10 vs. 200 is the story of a girl who runs into two characters. She is given $10 by one person and $200 from the other person. However, she has to choose which offer she will take.
Friends directed by Liliana Marcoida (‘21). Cast: Samantha Ruiz (‘21) playing Math Teacher, Vinh Ton (‘20) playing Adam, Aayush Pagaria (‘21) playing Jordan, Audrey Huang (‘22) playing Mean Girl, Ensemble is Jordan’s friend group
- Length: 10 minutes estimate - A short summary of the play: Friends is a story about two guys (Adam and Jordan). Adam is a new student and Jordan is a popular kid. Despite their differences, they soon become acquainted with one another until Jordan’s friend group starts to notice Adam’s and Jordan’s contrasting characteristics.
This Somber Night directed by Ms. Koizumi (Drama Teacher) and co-directed by Aayush Pagaria (‘21). Cast: Sandy Ouk (‘20) playing X, Aayush Pagaria (‘21) playing Y.

has gone absolutely crazy to the point where they can’t be with each other, due to them being so numb and one dealing with betrayal.

Seven beautiful stories, each holding a powerful message that should never be forgotten but kept in our hearts, to be passed down to our children and our children's-children. “The Fall Play Festival is an opportunity for students to showcase themselves as actors, playwrights, designers, stage managers, and technicians, ” says Ms. Koizumi.
