Well honestly, you shouldn’t. There’s a number of things you should be more concerned about, most notably the Russian investigation. While we all know Trump committed treason (don’t lie the evidence is all there, how’s that for emails) the coverage around this investigation is minimal at best. Everyone is talking about how bad this shutdown is and what Trump says and how it’s unprofessional.
It’s the same story over and over again, Trump insults any of the following: minorities, immigrants, Democrats, liberals, a foreign country or any unfortunate politician that might have said the word “no” to him. It really is vapid, how we focus on how insulting our president is, rather than how duplicitous this clown is.
This situation can be compared to another famously corrupt presidency, the Nixon presidency. Similar to how Watergate was a smokescreen to all the backroom dealings of Nixon and Agnew, the border wall is a wall meant to block our view from Trump screwing over our democracy. However, there are cracks through that wall, and if we expose that crack and break through the wall, hopefully justice will prevail.
Now how do we expose these cracks? Well thanks to the wonderful, magical power of the internet what I would suggest doing is spreading the word about the Russia investigation. You could do this by sharing articles and urging other people to share the same article and make sure it keeps getting circulation. The great thing about the Information Age is that we can spread the word in just a few seconds.
Bringing this back around to Nixon, one of the problems people had with not prosecuting the man in time was lack of traction. Journalists had very few windows of opportunity to bring someone as corrupt as Nixon and Agnew down. Now with mass media, new information could be revealed at any time. As soon as new information is shared from a credible news source, go ahead and make sure everyone you know hears about it, and make sure that every they know hears about and keep the cycle going.
We must not let this story die out. If coverage on this slows down more than it has been, America loses. This harlequin we let be the president of the free world has only opened up the gate for the rest of the clowns from out of the shadows. Just a few months back we let another temperamental child, Brett Kavanaugh, get into a position where he can be the deciding vote on a law that could potentially save lives and secure futures, and overturn it with a simple sentence.
So please take your attention away from the wall. The drugs will pass right through in vehicles, as they always have, and those south of the border will get through by way of tunnels, as they always have. But if we can manage to keep our attention on the man who has been subverting our democracy from the start, we can hopefully take him and the rest of his conspirators down.
