Disney + has become one of the most successful streaming networks since it was released. It has a variety of movies and tv shows that Disney has made and produced. Recently, a bit of its content was removed, which surprised subscribers because they weren’t expecting this to happen from the network.
Right after January 1 they removed a list of movies, some of which included all the Home Alone movies and The Sandlot. Many people were shocked to see these titles and many more removed from Disney +. Because they didn’t receive notice like how Netflix does when its about to remove a show or movie many of its subscribers were shocked. With Friends, Netflix posted a date that it was going to be removed on January 1, 2020.
The way I knew people were shocked when these movies were removed was an entertainment news instagram account posted a picture with Home Alone and The Sandlot cover with a caption saying “Disney + had removed a few movies and we must say we are surprise”. I was curious to see what people had to say. The movies that people were mainly shocked the Home Alone franchise and The Sandlot. I was mostly surprised to see the Home Alone removed because I planned to watch Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York the day after it was removed. But the reason Disney + said it removed these movies is because they weren’t getting so much views but Home Alone and Home Alone 2: Lost In New York were removed because they were holiday movies, so you said I couldn’t watch christmas movies in mid January.
List of removed movies:
Dr. Dolittle
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides
Home Alone
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York
The Sandlot
Flicka
Strange Magic
The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration
The Shaggy Dog
Garfield 2: A Tail of Two Kitties
But with these movies being removed, that means new one are coming. A lot of the movies being added are newer ones from both Disney and Marvel and will be added over the days and months as the year goes by.
By the look of this list the month that I am mostly looking forward to is March because by the looks of it, it seems to be filled with two greatly reviewed movies with Black Panther and A Wrinkle in Time. With two funny movies that I remember from my childhood G-force and Bedtime Stories. This is probably the month that will have me waiting to see all movies beside the other months that have at least one or two that I would like to see.
