I think that by now the American population has become accustomed to the growing K-Pop group known as BTS, or Bangtan Sonyeondan. The members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have had a very eventful year in the United States. Their album Wings topped the charts in 2017 which led them to tour with a total of four concerts in the U.S.. BTS has performed in award shows such as the Billboard Music Awards and American Music Awards and also appeared on shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Late Late Show. After a long, highly-anticipated year, the popular K-pop group is finally coming back to the U.S. for their Love Yourself tour. They return with the last in a series of four albums that began with Love Yourself: Wonder, Love Yourself: Her, then Love Yourself: Tear, and ending with the finale Love Yourself: Answer, which came out in August. BTS has a total of eleven shows in the U.S. which is a nice jump from the four that they had for their Wings tour. They kicked off their tour in Los Angeles and then headed to the Bay Area for a concert in Oracle Arena on September 12. This tour has also given them the opportunity to be the first K-pop group in history to perform in a large U.S. stadium in New York’s Citi Field, which holds 40,000 people. With all of their record-breaking songs and albums and appearances on many of America’s entertainment areas it might not feel as though BTS has been gone that long at all, but it does for their large fan base called the Adorable Representative MC for Youth, or A.R.M.Y. for short. In many of their interviews, BTS expresses their sincere love and appreciation for their fans as much as possible. As a thriving K-pop group, their fan base has only gotten bigger, making this tour such a significant opportunity for the group to interact with their fans overseas. Even at what seems to be the peak of their careers, the seven members have been grounded, humble, and mindful of everything that has helped them get to where they are. After performing on award shows and interacting with America, BTS continues to show their shock for what they’ve been able to accomplish and their Love Yourself tour will just be another accomplishment to add to their books. |
