The Bay Area is filled with talent raging from artists, dancers, photographers, to musicians. A majority of the time, these bands play shows together, and when they do their shows are always so much fun. Even if the genre of “rock” isn’t necessarily your scene, going and enjoying the environment and supporting local bands help keep the art scene alive
SWMRS
Formerly known as Emily’s Army, the SWMRS came from the East Bay punk scene. They started off touring with All Time Low. Cole Becker, the frontman of the SWMRS, gives off grunge vibes with the raspiness of his voice. Since 2014, they’ve only produced one studio album Drive North but are talking about releasing an album this year.

Small Crush
|
Being the son of Green Day’s lead singer, Jakob Danger has a lot to live up to. They released their first studio recorded album, Chroma, early 2017 and was promoted by Billie Joe. Being a local band, they do a lot of free shows throughout the Bay Area. They released a self-titled EP on March 13 and you can find it on Spotify, Soundcloud, and Apple Music.

Small Crush consists of four teenagers, no older than the age of 17. Their music can be found on Spotify. Small Crush stands out from the rest of the bands from the punk rock scene because the female lead singer’s delicate vocals is juxtaposed with the heavy instruments in the background.
