Thrifting is a good alternative to shopping at high end stores. Second hand stores are very inexpensive and at times you can be lucky enough to find high end brands there. I’m here to share with you some of my favorite stores to thrift at.
Savers
4950 Almaden Expy San Jose, CA 95118
It’s definitely a hassle to find jeans because sizes run different for every brand and jeans are usually the clothing you need to try on to make sure they fit. A good place to thrift for jeans is Savers. They have jeans organized by size and the tag is first thing you see when you browse through the aisles. The store is large and organized by section so it's easy to find what you're looking for.
Goodwill Loft
1691 W San Carlos st, San Jose 95128
This Goodwill is a little bit more pricey than the rest of the stores I have been to, but it’s because the loft on the second floor has higher end vintage clothing and name brands items such as Nike, Adidas, and North Face. The bonus of shopping at any Goodwill is that 87% of revenue from the sale of donated goods support programs and services for charitable purposes.
Crossroads
1959 W San Carlos st, San Jose, CA 95128
If you're okay with spending more than at any Goodwill or Saversm but less than a high end stores with the same items here’s the place to go. There’s plenty of big brand names and the clothes there are all up to date. Here is the store where you can shop for name-brand and designer clothing at amazing prices. As a bonus you're also helping out by keeping clothing out of landfill. When you trade at Crossroads, you’re choosing to receive trade credit that’s good at any of their stores, equal to 50% in trade of what they price your items at. If you were to sell your clothes for cash in stores, you can receive payment on the spot of 30% .
