On December 12, 2019 the Raider Review was invited to attend the East Side Union High School District hall of fame plaque unveiling. The plaque is now located at the district office which will permanently live as an inspiration and commemorates the triumphs of the East SIde.
Before the official unveiling of the plaque there was an opportunity for the most recent inductees to speak. All of these speeches ranged in topic but the most common theme was the ability to overcome adversity. As we all stood around the podium shoulder to shoulder, these individuals expressed their service to the community and the challenges they overcame coming from the East Side of San Jose, they were both heartwarming and motivating. There were multiple callouts to the students in the audience that we can make a difference, and that one day our names will be honored and live permanently on that plaque. The plaque now stands as a reminder of how we as students can change the narrative and recognize the talent that students of ESUHSD graduate with and bring to our community.
