Here is a little history about soccer. Soccer is a very intense sport that both women and men play. This sport has been very big in the Mexican culture since 1929. The concept of soccer is two different teams playing on a field competing to score in each others goals. Soccer was created in China when a couple of kids were kicking balls into a net for sport in the third century. Then it got the named football by England in the 19th century but soon once it came to America it was starting to be known as soccer. And now today we have an amazing USA Women's Soccer team that is well known all around the world. There are many leagues that many kids are in whether its “rec” which is playing soccer for fun or something more intense like “comp” which is competitive soccer and also another way many kids get scholarships to play in college and go big.
My personal experience with soccer goes back pretty far. I started playing when I was six years old in a little league that was for all these little kids to just have fun. My parents put me in it without thinking anything of it just something to help me find some friends and stay active. Soon my tio made a soccer team with me, my cousin and a couple other girls who this day are my best friends. We were a complete mess but kept striving to be the best. Years passed of being on that league and we were getting better. A coach from a comp league came to come watch my team and asked us to go join them which was huge for us at the time. I thank my parents for putting me in this sport because it is something I truly like to dedicate my time to. Yes while I was 10 years old I thought I was gonna be able to be like the USA soccer team and go play soccer in college but my took a turn on me. I am now a junior in high school still playing a sport I love.
I think that soccer is such a beneficial sport because it’s not just about running back and forth on a big field trying to score it’s also a good remedy to get your mind off things just like any other sport. Soccer helps you build a good bond with your team and meet new people. It is also such a competitive sport which means you do grow that strong personality to be ready for anything. Playing soccer means you are going to be in very good shape because you are not only training to run back and forth for 90 minutes but you are also training yourself to build skills with ball techniques.
So maybe if you can’t find a good sport try for soccer just give it a shot because it may be the sport you’ve been looking to fit into.
