Winter break is over and the second semester of the school year is here, which only means one thing: Prom season has arrived! With junior prom bids finally here and less than three months left until the actual event, excitement is flowing rampant throughout the class of 2019. The officers of 2019 have even posted a trailer video for prom on YouTube, showing off the venue and what to expect at prom
This year, the theme for junior prom is “Adventure is Out There” from the movie Up and is being held at Fairmont Hotel, downtown San Jose on Saturday, March 24 from 7 to 11 PM, though attendees can start coming in and check out the amazing decor and event at 6:30.
For 2018’s junior prom at The Glass House, prom bid prices changed depending on the bid number. The first 50 bids were seventy dollars, the second 50 were seventy-five dollars, the next 100 were eighty dollars, and the rest were eighty-five dollars. This year’s prom bid prices will change based on the time bought.
“We’re not allowed to [sell based on bid number] anymore because it caused too much trouble with students skipping their fifth period to wait in line for prom bids,” said Rachel Van, 2019 class president.
Junior prom bids will be eighty-five dollars until Thursday, January 25th. Bids bought January 30 to February 1st will be ninety dollars, and will rise to ninety-five dollars from February 6 to 8th. The last chance to buy bids, on February 13th will be one hundred dollars.
Junior prom bids can be bought during lunch and after school until 4. If you’re planning on bringing a guest from another school, make sure to fill out the guest pass before you buy a ticket!
