The return of the Australian band 5 Seconds of Summer is finally here! After taking two years off following their first headlining tour “Rock Out With Your Socks Off” in 2015 and their “Sounds Live Feels Live World Tour” in 2016, they’ve finally returned to the world stage.
Last February, they started their comeback with “Want You Back,” the first single off of their upcoming album. With the release of this pop-rock song, they’ve brought back and redefined their music almost two years after their last album release. With lyrics like “No matter where I go, I'm always gonna want you back,” they’ve got everyone hooked for more music to come.
Along with that, they announced the 5SOS3 Tour, featuring 26 small, intimate venues for fans to attend as the boys do their promotion tour for their latest single. So far, they’re more than halfway done with their tour and have played songs ranging back to when they first started the band in 2011 all the way to unreleased songs that are on their third upcoming studio album.
During their tour, they’ve played songs such as “Valentine” and “Talk Fast” which have a completely new and diverse style the world has never seen from 5SOS. Their music has changes a lot over the years they’ve been together as a band and it shows, especially though their songs like “Lie To Me” which holds heart-wrenching lyrics such as “I know that you don’t, but if I ask you if you love me, I hope you lie, lie, lie, lie.” Another one of their songs called “Youngblood,” talks about the pushes and pulls of a relationship and says “Yeah, you used to call me baby, now you're calling me by name/takes one to know one, yeah, you beat me at my own damn game.”
Just the other week, they announced the name and release date for their next album, Youngblood, which will be released on June 22nd with 16 songs on the deluxe tracklist and 14 on the regular. They even have cassettes and vinyl versions of album for pre-order along with the CD versions and the digital copies in store and on iTunes. 5SOS also announced the North American leg of their “Meet You There Tour” which will be starting on August 27th in Toronto and ending on October 12th in LA with more dates around the world coming soon!
