If you’ve ever been to high school (which I’m sure you all have), then you know how gross our bathrooms can get, whether it is the men’s or the women’s. There is toilet paper from the floor to the ceiling (wet and dry), used sanitary products everywhere, and sometimes fecal matter where it shouldn’t be (you can use your imagination).
We don’t give enough credit to our awesome custodians for keeping our campus and our bathrooms clean. Both day and night custodians work hard to make sure the bathrooms are clean every day. In case you haven’t noticed the bathrooms are actually really clean in the morning, but are often disgusting by the end of the day. It’s our fault that they’re dirty.
In case you’ve forgotten (because you’re 4 years old or have the mentality of a 4 year-old), here are some of the universal rules I think everyone should follow:

In case you’ve forgotten (because you’re 4 years old or have the mentality of a 4 year-old), here are some of the universal rules I think everyone should follow:
- Once you’re done with the toilet paper that you’ve used, flush it or throw it away.
- Only use the amount of toilet paper that you need and if you have extra (shame on you), flush it down.
- Remember to actively aim into the urinal or toilet. If it belongs in the toilet, then keep it in the toilet.
- Ladies, when disposing a feminine product, be sure to PROPERLY wrap it up, and throw it in the disposal box literally right next to you.
- Wash your hands!
With these rules in mind, we can work together to make the jobs of our custodians easier and may even be able to go to a clean bathroom during the middle of the day.
Again, ALWAYS flush when you’re done!
