Pollux

Eleanor was in their so-called kitchen, finishing the final touches to her brew. The boys sat across from each other at their uneven, wooden table. The tension was high, making them uncomfortable by the second. Both had the same thought in their mind, as they were mentally pleading for Eleanor to hurry up. Her presence might make the situation less tense. Jim slouched on his seat, looking anywhere but at his brother. Mason had his hands drumming on the wooden table, looking at his fingers as they made a beat. Mason decided to have the courage to start a conversation.
“So,” he dragged out, while Eleanor walked in and placed the dinner on the table. “How was work for you?”
Eleanor’s eyes widen, and she swiftly kicked Mace’s shin.
“Ow! What was that for?!”
“How about we talk about something else?” Elle turned the conversation around, taking her seat. “There’s a rumor that there’s some runaway royalty. Seems kinda interesting.”
“Yeah,” Harrison said, not trying to be rude yet wasn’t interested in an irrelevant topic. “So, what are we going to do?”
“What do you mean?”
His head turned to his sister, showing a little anger. “You know exactly what I mean.”
Mason spoke up, “I look for a new job, easy like that.”
“Please, Mace,” Harrison groaned, getting out of his chair. “You basically took every job you can here. Nobody is gonna accept us. I mean look at us, we have to rummage through garbage to get a decent meal. We were lucky to even find an empty place. We…”
Harrison felt like breaking down, his hands bunched his brown curls with frustration. His body turned around, his back facing his older siblings. It was quiet, nobody knowing what to say. The youngest finally relaxes, standing up straighter.
“Harry? Are you okay?” Ele’s delicate voice spoke out.
“We have to leave.”
“Harry, what are you saying?” Mason questioned, the confusion on his face similar to the girl’s.
The curly haired boy turned around. Running back to the table excited, something sparking in him.
“Think about it! Let’s get out of this town! It’s not like there’s anything left for us here!” He grabbed Elle’s hand, spinning her around excitedly. “We can travel anywhere!”
Harry looked at the eldest, “Plus, we can get more jobs! Let’s leave tomorrow night!”
Mason tried to speak out, but only stammered. His eyes grew worried, his sister might not be in the best shape to travel. On the other hand, Eleanor’s smile agreed with Harry. She put her long hair in a ponytail. Then, Elle reached for her beaten, brown hat. Her face gleaming with excitement.
“Great idea, Harry,” She pecked the top of her brothers’ head. “I’ll be back, we are going to need some food.”
She runs out, adrenaline pumping through her veins. She ends up deeper inside the town right at the heart of Pollux. She was already deep in the street market, some were closing, due to the rain and night. She held her small bag of copper coins tightly, wanting to avoid losing the very few gwop she has left. Her head swivels around looking for some supplies that would be need on her trip out of town. She walked towards a familiar stand. A man, a few month over 24, organizing his stand. His black, shoulder-lengthened hair was put into a bun. A burly man, for his age. His dirty white apron was tied tightly, his dark, green sleeve rolled up to his elbows. He holds a basket of bread rolls in his stand, trying to sell them to potential customers. Elle walks forward to the man, a smile printed on her face.
