While he’s only been on the job for a couple of weeks, Silver Creek’s new Activities Director, Mr. Brett Strommen, is feeling great about joining the staff and is eager to see how this year will pan out.
“The staff and the students (at Silver Creek) have been very welcoming and I’m glad to see a real strong sense of community here.” One of Mr. Strommen’s major plans for this year is to understand Creek’s community and see how he can benefit it in any way. And although he has no experience being an activities director, Mr. Strommen is beyond excited to learn from this new opportunity. “My only goal is to persevere, keep learning and keep moving forward”. Within the Leadership program, Mr. Strommen plans to focus on teaching students how to articulate their own goals and how to help disseminate them onto others. Though it is a student run class, he is eager to assist students with their time management, and help them achieve their personal and academic goals.
“As AD, I’m most looking forward to seeing how excited everyone gets when they see what Leadership has yet to accomplish this year”. Like years past, Leadership has a lot of work to do and have already started. From Non-Fire to Spirit Weeks, Mr. Strommen and the Leadership program obviously have a lot planned for this school year and with his help, I’m sure it’ll be a good one.
