Another year has passed and students have come back from a two-week long break to a new semester with high hopes for themselves. Upon returning from a stress-free vacation, our fellow peers to figure out how they can improve themselves for the second half of the school year and make the most of it. There are events for all of us to look forward to as the end of the the 2018-2019 school year draws near, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves just yet. We’ve still got to keep those grades up and do what is expected of us, and continue to be involved with all of the fun stuff at school.
The freshman class has finally experienced high school finals. Now with several events lining up, they’ll need to get ready to join in on more of the fun activities such as Fantastics - our biggest event of the school year. It’s their year to experience the ins and outs of Silver Creek, so it’ll be great to see them making the most of what our school has to offer.
The sophomores now know the gist of how it all works - studying late into the night, anxiously waiting to see their grades, and getting ready for a two week break with their families. It’s still a little scary and worrisome, but that Christmas break really relieves some of the stress accumulated during finals week. Coming back may have been a little more difficult this time around, but knowing what comes with the end of the school year makes it just a little less scary.
As for the juniors of Silver Creek, this is the year they all know is a great importance in their high school careers as far as their preparations for college. The pressure of classes, SATs, and really thinking about their goals for their last school year has to be difficult, but it’s a process that we all have to go through. We’re all cheering you on so keep it up, Raiders!
Last but not least, we have our seniors of 2019. Our graduating class’ four years are almost up. Some of them may have already figured out their future plans and are ready to get through this last semester, while some seniors are still figuring things out. Not knowing everything isn’t a bad thing at all - in fact, it’s totally okay. Stepping into the adult world is scary, so taking the time they need is essential in preparing for what comes next.
I hope that this new semester, year, and beginning goes great for all of you. Continue to work hard on achieving the goals you have made for yourselves and make time for some fun to balance everything that’s going on in your lives. For now, it might be stressful, but you should all focus on taking care of yourselves and strive for a better year.
